At this time of year

Song Info

I always think a little more

I take a little time to look around

I always look inward at myself

And get afraid of how little I’ve found

I’ve got so far to travel

Yet I’ve wasted so much time

I’ve got to start to push on

Because every day is no longer mine

I always listen to the sights and see all the sounds

Try to walk across the holy river and swim hallowed ground

Grasp at my frustration and shout down my fear

I’m always the same at this time of year

I always look a little deeper

As day by day my eyesight fails

I always appreciate all the colours

As each and every one pales

I’m trying to move further forward

‘Cause I feel time hot on my tracks

Though I want to start a new page

I yearn for ones seven chapters back

Recalling the good times avoiding the future that’s here

I’m always the same at this time of year

My fear of the future? The melancholy that always grasps me at this time of year?  Perhaps this fear is what has held me down? Answers on a postcard

- Douglas

When the new year rolls around there are all sorts of fears, regrets and promises made. Most of which disappear until the next New Year rolls around and so it goes.
